Measurements.....
Jordan/Luigi: If Robert gives you the measurement of the "boxes" on the trailer, then go with them. I obtained those measurements from Reg Hodgsen in Edmonton years ago and the ones on Robert's trailer are exactly that.
Good luck....Robert |

trailer boxes measurements
Hi Robert M.in Vancouver, hope you are doing well. Saw your new acquisitions, fabulous !
All, I am home for Thanksgiving so here it is : Document box located to the right rear is 27 cm wide, 29.5 cm high and 4.5 cm deep. Tool box located to the front left is 29 cm deep, 46 cm wide and 23 cm high. There is a little 3.5 cm step up from the bottom of the lid to the bottom of the tool box . All are outside measures with the lid on each box closed . Reported in centimeters but i can do inches if requested . The picture of the tow hook is to show how involved the braking mechanism is. If any else is needed , just email me , i will be playing with my CMP stuff during my vacation East. Again, Robert M in Vancouver did a splendid job on the trailer. Cheers. Ciao !

This trailer is pretty much done. Ive been waiting since this past fall for some warm weather as I still needed to paint the original combat rims after getting them back from the sandblaster. I gave the rims a nice coating of POR15 then did the usual steps of tie-cote primer and finished with Olive Drab. When I rebuilt the rims I ended up replacing the rim bolts.
New made Firestone tires were used, wow do they look great. They have all the proper period correct markings on them. A nice touch is that the modern DOT/safety markings are done in very fine print just above the bead lock on one side only. When I installed the rims, it is almost completely covered up. Combined with putting it on the inside face you can't see it. New tubes and flaps were also used.

Well I built a second 10cwt trailer recently. Although this one is a bit smaller and fits in the palm of my hand.

Dear all,
I'd like to ask you some info concerning the Brake master cylinder: is there a master cylinder interchangeable with the original one (F/91A-2140) that could be bought in the after market / internet? If yes, could you please provide me the brand and / or the part number? thanks a lot for the help and kindness. Kindest Regards Luigi Quote:

I believe that is the master cylinder still used today on some of the American designed 1.5 ton trailers.
They are available online under the part number you list: http://midfifty.com/item.php?INV_ID=9095 They are also listed at rock auto. Many different manufacturers for this cylinder, Raybestos MC1050 is one of the major manufacturers with a somewhat standard part number. |

I went with this one from Macs Antique Auto

They are also available in a wide range of brands and prices on e-bay:
The 91A2140 1 1/16" MC is part number FD1050. The 91T2140 1 1/4" MC is part number FD4570. And just to confuse the issue, your 1/35 scale model doesn't look like either of these, it looks more like the 1" bore M/C: FE1476.

Haha thanks. I was waiting to be called out on that. It was actually a coil from a 1/35 Kublewagen engine.

Canvas for 10 cwt canadian trailer
Dear all,
sorry bother you again; I'd like to ask you if someone of you knows the correct dimensions for the canvas to be put on the 10 cwt canadian trailer. On the basis of the photos shown in the maintenance manual (general - A5) and the measurements taken on my trailer, I'd like to order a canvas with the following dimensions: Lenght: 93 Inches (240 cm) Width: 43 Inches (160 cm) What do you think about these dimensions? Thanks in advance for your continuous support and help! Have a great Sunday! Kindest Regards Luigi |
