Default 6 Jerks In A Jeep - Private Buckeroo

"The Andrew Sisters, a three part female harmony group popular in the 30's and 40's, sing '6 Jerks in a Jeep that leaps'... This is taken from the public domain movie Private Buckaroo made in 1942. It's a good sing-a-long tune and the harmony is quite amazing."

Looking at the clip I notice that the gear shift lever is not visible. My My three wide in the front of a jeep.

It’s 1940s special effects. The “Jeep” is a Hollywood dummy. They would have shot the seen in a studio in front of a white screen. The background images are projected onto the screen while stage hands bounce the dummy jeep up and down. Most car scenes in movies at that time were shot that way.

PS. Marry Christmas to all.

The front guard is shaped like a Ford GP one, and appears to move independently from the jeep.

Our HMV Club provided background displays for a D-Day commemoration at the Boston Navy Yard Last year and this was part of the entertainment.
