Default Wheel scotch for winch equipped trucks

There are a few references on MLU to scotches and their storage and use on various winch equipped military vehicles from Great Britain and Canada.

Various artillery tractors incl LAAT, and breakdown vehicles (wreckers) etc.

However none show the size of scotch applicable to various models.

I have seen 12" wide, 14" wide and 17" wide scotches.
The 12" wide include the ones with the twisted rod brackets, with the riveted side plates while the wider ones have a pair of angle iron brackets welded to the end plate with a hole for a bolt or clip to attach a cable eye or similar.

I looked through Bart van der Veen's directory for tyre sizes.

My thoughts are:
12" for 9.00-16 and 10.50 - 16 or 10.50 -20 eg CDSW and CMP Holmes wrecker, FAT etc
14" for ??
17" for 13.50 -20 or 14.00 - 20 e.g. Matador and Scammell

Any ideas or suggestions please?

Rob
