Default Part ID needed.

Could I get some assistance identifying this part please?

Stamped markings are GMH-W S (ie Australian made at General Motors Holdens at Woodville in SA), and A78681T-5, and 18683T, and ADD-A-5-279.

Soft padding under the canvas, and is shaped offset, such it might be "handed" (ie LH or RH), and possibly only half of a pair.

Default I.d.

I think it could be the shoulder pad for a 20mm Polsten. Woodville made a lot of parts for that setup.

It certainly looks like some sort of shoulder pad, but the Holden-made Polsten pics on the Holden Retiree's Club page show the Holden guns had canvas webbing for the shoulder support.

Default 6-pdr

I agree with RIX: 6-pdr gunner's shoulder rest/mount.
