Question ignition resistors?

I am currently using a standard coil, 6volt delco remy that can be purchased through mv part suppliers. It is not new old stock. I purchased it from a GPW jeep parts supplier and it is a modern build. The question is as I am not using the original Ford coil should I bypass the ignition resistor up under the dash. The vehicle I am referring to in this post is my Ford F15a.

Yes. If you don't, then the modern coil designed for a nominal 6v (but more like 7.2V when running) will only get around 4V with an attendant loss of spark volts.

Just take off the wire running from the resistor to the coil and put it on the other end and leave the resistor electrically "hanging" and going nowhere, just for show.
