On closer inspection the military frame is made of 3/16" material as opposed to 1/8" on the half ton. The inside of the frame measurements are the same. The one tons were likely made of 3/16" material too.

Those frames remind me of the frame of the '41 KB 2 I restored back in the '80's..
It came out of a farm west of Prince Albert, from the original owner..That truck never saw salt..and when I took off the bumper bolts ,it was with a 1/2 drive socket set..no heat..no impact sockets...no penetrating oil...just a 1/2"drive ratchet with no two foot pipe as an extended handle..
It was wonderful..Like working on a new vehicle..
It was the gumbo that helped to preserve it..
Those that are not familiar with Saskatchewan gumbo(Mud) have no idea what real mud is until you have experienced a rainey spring days drive on a back road in gumbo country..

That gumbo is something else, and where I live it's the heaviest clay gumbo there is. Other areas of the prairies pale when compared to this area, but you get used to it.
When I took the C8 apart, I broke about a dozen bolts, and of these there are only three that I have to drill out.
Another observation on the frames: the C8 front axle is the same as the 2 ton. The half ton spindles are quite a bit smaller.
I looked at my HUP frame today. It looks the same as the C8 but it's made out of the same 1/8" material as the half ton. One would wonder why they went to the lighter frame on the newer 4X4.

George .
I envy you...I'll take the gumbo...
It is funny what you notice when you enter a new area of the country...When I came back after 24 years out west,I immediately noticed in farm country the west side of all the farm metal roofed silo's were rusted while the rest just looked faded..It was from the acid rain and the prevailing westerly winds..
A blight on the country..

Default C60X chassis drawing

While researching about the CMP C60X, I stumbled on a C60X chassis drawing, from a danish army lubrication chart. Due to being a rare subject, I tought it would be of more general interest, beyond my simple modeling interest, so I will post it in some places, with a link to the original site, that has also some nice photos.

My thanks for Ole Andreasen for the public posting of this file.

(go to files, look for "Chevrolet CAN - C60X - haandbog - alle typer.pdf", its all in danish unfortunatly.)

I hope this can be usefull!
