John -
Totally missed that - excellent...we just need to match the WD Serials to the vehicles. I wonder if the notebooks of the Regt Tech Adjt ever survived ? Many thanks Roddy |

Does anyone know if any of these names were carried forward to Ferrets used by them?
I have a Ferret that has names over the drivers hatch but so many in such thin layers of paint that they are near impossible to read. Robin |

As the names were from the names given to horses, and then passed onto the new rides, yes they should have been. The Leo C-2's sitting in the tank barn today have them on the fume extractor with numerals added. ie Ardvark III.

Dear Strat 1
Is there somewhere in your regiment that would hold names and CFRs and maybe even the hull numbers of Ferrets held at various times? Im thinking that you are current serving? I would like to do justice to the vehicle and if it is a Strat vehicle it will be done accordingly R |

I have decoded through the layers of pain today with the aid of Jason that at one time the Ferret was called CHINA and bore the call sign 31 and also has the road runner on the right side.
I am not in any way saying those markings were concurrent to each other but they have been on it at one time. Exactly when I cant prove as I cant prove which layer of paint contains the markings. R |

I searched for anything with a list of CFR's for you but, came up emtpy handed. As for the names, search the Regimental Manual: http://www.strathconas.ca/regimental-manual Will have a list of tank names, that have been in use since WW 2, and todays Leopard C-2 still carry these names. Anthony |
