Default Ford V-8 main and big end bearings

I have studying a War Department report for 1935-6 on what I assume was a Fordson 7V submitted for WD trials which included road work and cross-country work. Both main and big end bearings showed signs of 'disintigration' after 10,000 miles and Ford of Dagenham were going to supply better bearings for the trials lorry. Was there any similar problem with the early CMP V-8s?
