Default Desert Sand to Jungle Mud volume 1

The product of over 30 years of research by the authors, this series represents the most comprehensive coverage of the subject of Australian military vehicles of the Second World War.

Mike Cecil and Keith Webb are proud to release the first book: Desert Sand to Jungle Mud Volume 1: Trucks, 1/4 ton (jeep) and Trailers.

It is an A4 size hard cover book of 233 pages.

This book encapsulates those years of service in over 356 images, many not previously published. Detailed text and extensive captions explain every aspect of the jeep's use by Australian military forces.

The book also reproduces 80 pages of Australian military technical publications about jeeps and jeep trailers, bringing all of this valuable information into one reference source.

The price is $A82.50 excluding postage and will be available from mid-February.
Packaging and postage within Australia is $16.00.

The linked web page will soon show international postage costs.

The book will be available for pre-order and payment for collection at the Corowa Swim-In. Orders can be made via the link, which also provides details of ordering for those not attending the event.

Default Thanks

Glad to see this first edition in a planned series of books on Aust. Mil. Vehicles. I know that many hours of research has gone into the project. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

Default When do you start volume two???

Congrats on your efforts...but you can't have volume one without a second volume.

Would love to see all the different modifications that Holden did to fine Canadian made trucks......

Cheers

Don't worry... as the saying goes: 'But wait, there's more.' You'll just need to be patient.

my copy arrived yesterday and what a great read. A quick flick through last night showed great details and some drawings of mods such as the ambulance versions.

Only thing wrong with my copy is that neither or either of the authors signed it!

Looking forward to volume 2 and I am hoping it is the softskins!!!!!!

Default Desert Sand to Jungle Mud Vol.1 Trucks, 1/4 ton 'jeep' and Trailers

Some of you will be familiar with Mike Cecil's equipment profiles and other publications over the years. Mike and I have now completed volume 1 of our Desert Sand to Jungle Mud series which focuses on the Jeep in Australian service from WW2, covering Jeeps in service with the Australian Army, RAAF and Navy (yes, they had some) and also covers the Amphibious Jeep and all the Australian trailers as well as the Bantam trailer. We also look into the many special adaptations of these vehicles during WW2 and for the balance of their service. Many photographs are previously unpublished from WW2 service people's photo albums. We also include pages of service bulletins and other information making this the most comprehensive book on this type. More than 40 years of research went into creating it.
It is available to order now using this link: https://www.michaelkcecil.com/collections/200233
