Meanwhile...
Bob C. spends a bit of time on line searching out little tidbits like this POW can dated 1942.
 It would appear that it was retrofitted with contents tabs:    Greg, this is the style of can I need for my 45 HUP - dated 1945 if possible. Appreciate if you keep an eye out for them. As for price, well, I am of Scottish descent...

For the record.....
...got mine from Ebay.... approx. $30 US and $17 for shipping....
Last count he was still listing them..... from where.... "Kalifournyhey" don't ask me how they got here.... All have British broad arrow and dated 1942,43,44..... BooB

Check out this german can......260143957913
and the bargain British jerry cans..... 300193969659 California to upper NY state at the UPS maibox I maintian......... postage is approx $17....... not heavy but bulky....Customs don't even look at them...... Good luck bidding..... Bob
