Default R.C. Signals Canada Type DM-1

I'm wondering if anyone can help identify what this item was used for? I have two of these, both items are marked the same but are from different molds as the inscription on one is less pronounced. Both were manufactured by Electro-Voice, South Bend, Indiana, U.S.A. and are well stamped with the C-Broad Arrow.
If these are not 19 set related and they can find a good home, I'd be interested in trading these for something.
Cheers,
Patrick

Default More photos

Here are two additional photos which show the various markings and molding marks on the devices. Are these speakers of some sort?

They are mics for the Canadian Wireless Set No.58, sometimes called a 'whistle' mic.
