Default Type 13 Cab

Hello Friends,

I am seeking a solid type 13 cab (or parts*) for the F60L I am working on.

*I am especially seeking a roof, hatch, rear panel and the passenger side wind screen frame.

Thank you

if the frame work for the rear panel is still good you will need to re-skin it, what is the history on this one , did you get it up here?

HI Frank (and everyone else),

The frame might be ok. I will have to look at it closer.

The truck (F60) was shipped from California to the gentleman I purchased it from in Virginia. It was off a movie lot where it (according to the story) was only just saved from being blown up for filming. It's going to require a total body off.

Thank you for your skinning suggestion.

Default Welcome to the zanny OD green world....

HI John

Most rear cab section are rusted on a cab 13...... easier to reskin than to patch.

Finding a good roof with many dents to fill is already quite an accomplishment finding a perfect one is well......
'
On your frame...... the long C60 frame have a double wall construction for greater strength........ look for water that has creaped between the frame and caused delamination of the steel almost like soda crackers....... quite common.
Can be fixed by totally disassembling the frame, removing every cross member and having a new insert reinforcement plate installed.... then reassemble into the original ladder type frame.

Any pictures of the beast???/ some of us can't read..... does it have a good engine???? power train..... fuel tanks????

Hi Bob (and everyone else),

The frame looks ok as (guessing) it spent a long time in a hot dry place. Engine turns by hand, vehicle rolls and things turn while doing so - I'm guessing nothing is seized. It has only one gas tank. The second is missing. Tires look good.

I really don't look forward to leading in the Swiss cheese roof. . . I've fixed worse but not worse by much. The hatch has been closed with a sloppily welded plate. The hatch lid and mounts are all gone (of course).

I will get some pics of this beauty.
