Default 2017, what vehicle did you miss out on?

Every year there are vehicles that we all come close to buying but somehow they escape us.

For me it was a Carawagon based Land Rover. Maybe if I am patient it will come around again.

What passed you by? Pictures if you can.

Another year and yet another Dino Ferrari slipped out of my grasp!

Still, as Enzo Ferrari said " The only sports car ever built in America was the Jeep" and I did get another one of them.

Not an HMV, but a truck after my own heart. An early 1990s Ford Ranger 2wd pickup recently showed up on a for-sale posting. Nothing exceptional, but it was a diesel 4-cyl. VERY uncommon in Canada. It would combine my two favourite vehicle traits, useful and frugal. It sold just as quickly as I could do the math in my head how to pay for it.

It wasn't a bad year for acquisitions: Picked up a US HMMWV, an ex-Cdn Armstrong MT500 motorcycle, and another M35CDN MLVW project. Also picked up another 1976 Chev 5/4 ton for parts. And all these were after I swore off any more pieces as I already have a lifetime's worth of work waiting for me.

I do still have a deal pending, so time will tell on those.

So does anybody know when too many is too much, and just how many or much those would be?
