Your talking about the rubber bit with that the antenna screws into. if so they sometimes come up on ebay. ive seen some at shows that have the big metal spring clamp attached. They would probable work, just have to remove the clamp.

Here are some pictures of the WaterProof Cover #20. The WS-19 installation guid calls for the #19 Cover. However I have never seen any photos of this item. I managed to snag this one on ebay not too long ago. The WS19 Control Box in the picture is the correct one for being installed in a Mk1* Carrier.
Im sure this cover is correct for the Carrier as it fits perfectly and makes sense on how it would protect the control box from the weather. Im just wondering if the #19 Cover was simply backed by canvas and not the metal plate? Anyway I thought you would all find this interesting since its not something seen that often.

Jordan,
Nice find.I have the control box and #19 set in my carrier and wondered how the boxes held up in the weather. That would make sense to have covers for them. The more I read these discussions, the more items I need to find for my carrier! Nice to see pictures of what I need, the fun is in the hunt, the pain is trying to find the money to pay for it! Derk.

Update
I think it is time to give an update on the progress of the aerial bases.
As I am currently running about 6 months behind doing what I promised to do I should apologize first Okay, I have returned the original to the owner but have made the changes to the cad drawings at the laser cutters. I am now happy with that part of the operation. Once I have finalized the pricing I will post photos and a detailed description of what I am supplying as I did not have all the components of the base to copy. Until then Kind Regards Nigel |

Derek, Only the control box up front would have this cover. The other one in the rear compartment above the WS19 set is covered by the big cover.
Once I get my front ammo bins from Midwest Military I will take some pictures of the way this should all be setup. Nigel, pls put me down for one of the aerial mast bases.

Mast base
Thanks for the update Nigel - I was wondering what had happened about the bases as i have found an original brass toothed base plate. I am still accumulating parts for the scout as I go, whether or not I restore the machine myself.
Cheers Phill

Clarification.....
Hi Jordan
So what are we working on..... The back panel that has the edges turned over...... the narrow metal strips that are rivited over the canvas...... and you have the switch box to bolt to the backing plate...... or do we also need the backing plate for the switch box.....? May be cheaper to send by Grey Hound...... I work downtown and can easily pick it up. Boob

Nigel
Firstly, Thank you for your hospitality, and i appreciate your going to the trouble of picking me up, and taking me back. I enjoyed my visit.
I have re read this thread, (that now seems to have become the MLU radio thread) and I note that you were enquiring about the small parts of the aeriel mount. as you would now know, I do have those bits. So how can I help? I cannot yet locate the rubber bumper, but it is not a good example.

This aerial base is marked "base No2" and takes a 7/8" dia. aerial. I believe it came from an early british universal carrier.

slow boat from Australia
Hi Kevin and other long suffering aerial base owners.
Yep..well..umm...errr....yep. there coming. I have actually done something. I have had 10 sets cut out and they are in my shed as I type. further, I have spoken to friend of a friend who has a pan brake to do the bending. So, once there bent up all I need to do is oxy weld them up and install the rivets x4 to secure the arm to the base plate, ream the holes for the hinging points, play with them to make them work correctly, work out what they cost to make, hopefully not scare the hell out of those wishing to own one and send them to their new homes. Sooooo..please hang in there, they are coming. Kind Regards Nigel |

Yes please
Hello Nigel, I am stil;l definately interested in an aerial bracket assembly when the time comes. I now have the serrated brass base plate and the insulated centre bas, needing only the toothed outer mounting and the mounting base assembly to put it all back together like it should be !
Cheers Phill

yes
Hi Richard and all
All 10 units have been bent up, about 4 of these have been set up on a bit of plate and tinkered with so the hinging works and the bits fit together and look right. The welding is a bit of an issue. The originals were oxy welded and this is very time consuming and costly. I am looking at tig welding as mig and stick welding just do not look good. I may have to go back to the oxy. The other thing is the arm off the top bracket is riveted on. I have the rivets but must make the tools to rivet. Once they are finished, I feel they will look the part. A friend is helping with the final fitting etc but is currently away. For me personally I will be glad to finish the job. Having them out their on carriers will be worth the effort. Please hold out. There almost done. A long wait but I'm sure it will be worth it. Nigel |

Yep, Yep and thanks
Yep Jordon. no problems. Mail it down.
Nigel Ward Po Box 1512 Toombul, Queensland Australia, 4012 Thanks Shaun. Your on the list. Richard. You gave me an idea. I wonder if it is best that I tack weld the bits into the correct positions and let those who buy finish the welding to their..........standard. If the new owner chooses tig, mig stick or oxy that's up to them. Show of hands please. Hi Phill. We have to talk. 0418 795 022 I'll ring you straight back. AND I am grateful to have acquired a pogo stick from a follow carrier nutter (it's ok ,he called me a "bird" once). I have priced the bren attachment to be cast and done some of the sums for the rest including the spring. In truth, I've brought the pipe already. That was a good way to spend money I thought the steel man meant per length but it turned out to be per metre. So, they look like being somewhere around $200+ Aussie dollars each. That's about the same in US dollars at the moment. Any interest? Oh and I'm making Sheppard crooks as well. $200 Aussie each. Blacksmith made with old 1 inch bar from a scrap yard. got that old look about it. 3 in England and 2 in France already. I think about $100 Aussie to post. Thanks N |

base
I need one of those toothed bases for my FFW 8 cwt Morris PU truck.
I have detailed pics of the antenna mount/base setup with the No. 11 set. Put me down for a base .....I dont need the carrier mount , just the base itself. Maybe Rory in the UK would need one as well ? I have the 7/8" rods from the golf bag mast kit .. these are 3ft sections from memory... they fit the "ebonite B" base. Mike

I'm with Mike Kelly. I would also like the base only without the carrier bracket for my Morris. Any chance? If so, I'll ask Rory and probably order two.
