Default Chevrolet 216 oil pan

I'm looking for a 216 oil pan off of a CMP. Deep model with pick up and the oil distribution system still intact. I want to put it on the Museums CMP Tipper. It currently only has the passenger car pan and we would like to put the original type pan on it.
In Canada preferred. We are in Chilliwack B.C.

Default Hard to find....... in good shape!!!!

Hi Harry

We have collected quite a few late 40s and 50 216 but all are civilians. The few CMP pans are either on existing trucks or badly rusted and or punctured. And of course once you opt for the 235 or 261 the originald deep pan will not fit.

Now you could cut a civvy pan and mig weld a strip to make it deeper...... but the original military 216 had the dip stick in the pan..... not in the block like a civvy and then your oil pick up would need some mods as well.......

Personnaly I have not seen too many of the original deep pan.

Cheers

Default

Yes the two I have were Swiss cheese or more accurately cheese cloth. Both my motors were 54 235's so the oil pans fit but I cut out the dipper mechanisms and patched up the leaks, welded an extension to the pickup. its nice to have a couple extra quarts.

Default Would it fit and work

I've put the original oil pan on my full pressure 235's but I removed the whole dipper system so no interference problems. The Engine in the tipper truck is a low pressure 235 so the stroke is 3.93 inches. That makes it about .09 longer on the stroke. has anybody put a 216 pan on a low pressure 235? Does it line up? Seems like there might even be interference.
