Default Next, you find an engine

...and test-run it...

Give it a good drink of fuel and kick her in the guts with the battery.

No need to worry, she won't fall over.

Default Oil

At least there was oil inside. Max had to keep a finger over the oil pipe hole!

Default engine

we were asked " does she go, does she go" said Robert we'll show ya.First we found a battery and jumper leads and then a wire to hook up to the coil, then we realised we had no fuel so the battery had to go back into the old inter truck to start it up to collect the fuel from the fuel line at the carburater. With fuel we were back in buisness Robert cranked the old chev over while I poured in the fuel and when it fired up to our surprise the engine never moved.

Default Engine start

All of this was captured on video by Emma and I am including it in Year of the Blitz II.

It makes very entertaining viewing!

Tony you should know that an old ford V8 only needs to have the sniff of fuel and the hint of spark and off she'll go.

You can drop them off at the scrap yard, but the next morning they're back at your front door whining to come in again.

yes Fords are the best of the two but did you know that Chev stands for...

Children Have Enough Vegemite (here in Australia that is)

so does this make them more energetic?

In my scant four years of collecting/restoring CMPs, I have yet to find one that is green. I have a red, yellow, white, blue, orange and a number of rust coloured CMPs/CMP frames, and the only one that comes close to green is my formerly white HUP frame.

Truth be known, I have a Ford CMP and I would save other Ford CMPs (I need spare brake parts which coming from a Ford never seem overly used - probably because they never moved too far...).

Ultimately, Mike, I am in your court (but with a heavy chevy bias...).
