Default WS 19 Set Crystals

Does anyone have a photo of the differant types of crystals used in the 19 sets?

I have been in contact with a lady that claims she has several of these, but they are of differant sizes and shapes..and I am unsure if they are for the 19 set.

Thank you
Dean

Default No XTALS

The 19 set itself doesn't use Xtals ... it has a VFO . The calibrater unit , which I've never seen outside of Canada , has a xtal inside it I think .

Then I wonder what all these crystals are for...some look like tubes or Valves..some are square with 2 pins...they look like they had C Broad Arrows on them at sometime.....and there are a couple of types of smaller ones.

There were many radio sets made for the navy, air force & army that used crystals. It's nice to have C/l\ xtals just for historical purposes.

I do have a copy of a letter from the Dept. of Transport written in the 1950s during the cold war. It stated that those 19 sets used by the Civil Defense agencies must be converted to crystal control.

I've never seen one but then again what I thought was a ham mod may have been an official mod.

If you can, get the xtals as there are a few people that collect them.
