Default WTB Stake side body - Chev Maple leaf 41- 46

I am considering the acquisition of a 1942? ex military spec Chevrolet Canada (Maple Leaf) 4409 truck project. This project is a dismantled, unfinished, incomplete project and does not include ANY body with the sale. Although more than a little daunted by the work required to restore this truck, I am most hesitant to commit to the project at all if I can't find an appropriate body to restore and place on the chassis. (Not interested in doing a resto to make it look like a restored general tray truck) I am in Victoria, Australia and would like to know if anyone has such a body type spare and would be willing to sell it to me?
I am a new member so a big hello to all and hope someone can assist me.

Default Basketcase projects

Welcome!

I would be very reluctant to take on someone else's disassembly job. Especially if the seller was brazen enough to want money. Unless the price is seriously discounted or free, to accommodate for your complete learning, don't take it as a first project. Missing a big piece is another detractor.

Terry, why? I expect there are a good number of very viable (and valuable) projects that were bought, disassembled at the start of the restoration process then the project stalled or was abandoned. I'd be more than happy to buy a disassembled project but it does put a lot of pressure on the buyer to know the vehicle well enough to be able to tell what's there and what's not.
