Default Radiator overflow for C8a

All

I'm desperately seeking a radiator overflow for my C8A HUP

Any one got a spare or one for restoration??

Hi Pieter

Which one, there were two locations one along the side of the nose above the fender, the other below the fender in the wheel well? I am not sure if they are interchangeable.

There is an old thread with good dimensions and pictures.

It's the same can on both locations.

Phil,

Mine is a late version 1944 therefore most likely the one below the fender

Yes. I don't know the cut off but you only see the side mounted cans on 1942 trucks and not any later. The theory is they were getting bashed around so moved to a safer location.

I agree that in basic size and shape they are the sam, there are detail differences in where the "off-center" connection is placed on the two cans. See http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...hlight=coolant for more discussion and images.
The existance of two types of radiator overflow tank is confirmed by pars list (C60S-03 was the first that camr to hand) part number 5805402 is described for "on top of fender" and part number 5819685 is described for "under fender on footwell panel". The split is listed as serial 384---09395.
