Default C15 no12 cab: blackout lights?

Hi All Can anyone tell me whether C15 no12 cabs had the rubber black out light fitted? I have 4 of them NOS but cannot find many pictures of either 11 or 12 cabs with them fitted so wonder under what circumstances they are appropriate ?

Cheers Bob Kenny

Couple of factory photos Bob, showing the rubber lights in position front wings left and right and on the rear right. There is also one on a sightly longer bracket that bolts on to the frame cross member to shine on to the rear diff. All models were fitted with them the front picture is a 15cwt 4x4 the rear picture is a 60cwt

Default Different Style Blackout Headlight on CBC Recording Van

Hi Bob

Here is a photo of another style black out on a Pattern 11 Ford

Now the question, was this a civilian, or Canadian Military, British Military headlight unit?

I'll have to do some digging to see I can find a date for the picture.

Cheers Phil

Phil, I like that spare wheel carrier. Not seen that one before.

What does it say on the door? Radio Canada?

Great stuff, keep it coming!

I'd guess at the shield on the drum light may be a British commercial vehicle type possibly CAV, is that a British civilian reg plate on the bumper ?

Default Had no noticed the plate

Hi Peter

Good spotting on the civilian regestration plate. Quick look through my other photos of CBC, BBC recording vehices, particularly CMPs and that seems to be the only one with regestation or license plate. Even my HUP in BBC livery running around in New York City was plateless.

But it clearly has two blackout headlights picture taken 19 June 1945.

Back to the spare tyre, for a moment. It looks to be a narrow and possibly a 20 inch tyre (7.50 x 20??), while the front tyre looks to be a 10.50 x 16.
Possibly a trailer spare on the roof rack?
