Hi Everyone,

Purchased a metal bar at a local 2nd hand shop. It's roughly 4ft 7in long, straight, is of octangonal section and has the following markings stamped into it:

-Broad arrow in a circle on two sides of the bar.
-Sheffield Made In England
- <MM> Toledo Cast Steel

Does anyone know what it's for?

Cheers.

Here's a horrible picture of it.. Need a new camera.

Its probably the blank that the crowbar for your carrier will be made from.

No need, picked up an original one from the very same shop.

What does a rivetted carrier's crowbar look like?

Default Dont worry Alex

To save you the worry you could drop it off at my place. Were you in the 2nd hand shop this weekend just gone? I spotted a jack slightly smaller than a carrier one, in cast steel. Sadly it had some asian wrighting on it.

Alex, I've just seen your "yellow peril" Theres a yellow landy up here with CSTD SQ on the number plate.
On the bar, Ive been looking for a decent octagonal or round bar,(for about 2 years) that I can make one out of. The carrier one can only be a bit over a meter long.
The problem is that people put "pickup only" on big things. I've found about 3 in ChCh so far.
The bar I'm looking for, has a two way thing on the end. No decent photo available, and I havent seen the real thing either. There's probably a few around P.N.
