Default What do I have here? No.2.

A Radio Compass?? What is it and how does it work?

I think it is serial No. 13684 but may be 123684 as it is a bit rough.

As it says, MN-26C radio compass. These were used aboard aircraft for radio direction finding and navigating. Operated in the broadcast band region.

Missing the control box, indicator & loop aerial.

Default compass

Rick

These were a major advancement when they first appeared as they were considered to be the most successful of their kind . From memory they had a sense function that enabled the user to work out which bearing was correct . Normally you got two bearings 180 degrees apart .

bit of a write up http://vk2bv.org/archive/museum/mn26.htm
