Cab13 Chevy Side curtain

Hi everyone.

I am currently working on the side curtain frames for my C15a Cab13.

Just looking for some clear pictures of what the proper fasteners are supposed to be on the bottom tabs that fit into the door brackets.

The comparison bolt is a 5/16 NC.

OK thanks. So on the backside there is a countersunk hole. Is that void just left empty? Looking at it I assumed it was for a countersunk screw to thread in then a wing nut on the threaded stud to secure them in the door

My second question would be.. what is the length of the 5/16" machine screw?

I made a pair of these for my Ford some time ago.

The originals had countersunk hole on rear of the attaching lug, with countersunk screw which almost filled the hole. it was then welded into place, completing filling of the countersunk hole.

You are correct about the wing nut also.

Don't know how long I left the thread section, but only cut it after I did a trial fit, to ensure enough thread to unwind the wing nut to 'curtain removal' position without falling off. There wasn't enough of the original thread to indicate a correct length

I think the discussion may be referencing two different types of CMP side curtains. I have never seen Tony's example of a wire framed version of a side curtain (Local Australian Manufacture???)

On all of the side curtains I have handled the fasteners were of the type pictured by John. Once installed the end of the bolt was then deformed to prevent it from backing out of the threaded hole. The countersunk portion of the hole was to accommodate the movement of the deformed portion of the bolt.

I don't have any images but others might be able to weigh-in.
