That is an excellent restoration Rob
You left all the tell tale signs of it"s use but brought it back to Life It was never a million dollar vehicle it was made to do a specific job and it looks like it just got off work! That is the way it should be done Kudos to you Rob |

Thanks Stew. It sill looks a little too fresh for my liking. Once it gets banged around and a little dusty it should start to look the part. I still have to re-do the front roof over the driver/co-dvr, and as soon as the weather warms up a bit more I'll soak that tarp and let it dry in the sun to get the final shrinkage.
Was at the Canex just now so grabbed a copy of the ML paper. One notable difference to the online article ( http://www.army-armee.forces.gc.ca/e...useum/j1gkjndq ) is that they changed from "Sgt (retd)" to "Mr" and shortened it up a bit. Suits me fine, but one could read into the article that I was only a reservist. I got my start there during my high school years, but once out of school it was straight to the recruiters so I could do what I loved for five to seven days a week. You can see just how rough a problem the restoration crew had to deal with..Leather Buggy seats in final stages of disintegration .

Wish I'd had time to take more shots, but around this time Rob was working 12 hour days to get it finished..
So made it a quick visit. The combination of nasty overhead lighting…the camera flash…and daylight through the open door made for some challenging photography. Had to use a bit of colour-tweeking to get it viewable. |

Those nasty yellow lights may soon go the way of the dodo bird. Not because they are ugly, not because they give a background noise, but because they are not energy efficient. They will soon be replaced by the snow white lights of LED.
Man, working here just keeps getting better. Today I got my big tire machine wired in, and tomorrow they will have the lathe hooked up. |

Is the dash more or less WW1 style…..or later mod..?
For sure... not much there. Oil Pressure and engine temp..?? I assume spark advance on the steering wheel…was throttle there as well.? |

The control panel is just an ammeter and a combination ignition and lighting switch. It is not a Cadillac item but rather a model T item that was retro fitted to this truck around the same time as the conversion. The panel is from the model years 1919-1925 I believe. There was a run of khaki paint down the back of it, so that switch was there during it's military service, whenever that might have been.
