What an ignorant fool!
Yep, agree, and didn't do ANY research before launching into this highly misleading video.
- driving without a Crew Commander providing all round vision/orders/warnings etc - driving without an intercom, which provides hearing protection as well as the means to relay instructions etc from... the Crew Commander. I didn't see any radio equipment installed at all, so I wonder what the owner does when he takes it out on the road. All in all, this sort of idiot broadcasting this sort of rubbish will only serve to make some lawmaker take notice in a bad way for us, and start restricting the use of such vehicles on roads. Grrrrr.... off my soap box now... Mike |

and...
you said it for me Mike, no observer or intercom.
Also driving the vehicle with a windscreen fitted, probably so it doesn't blow the froth off his skinny vanilla latte. He did get one thing right, the horrible brakes. |

Judging by the ear to ear grin and the comment at the end, I think that Doug enjoyed every moment of his time with the Ferret, even with all it's quirks and faults.
Rich.

Fred vanSickle of Collector's Source in Acton, Ontario imported several Ferrets about 25 years ago.
He was selling them for $12,000.00. I rolled into his driveway one day in order to pick up a Bren gun tripod and there was Fred just finishing kitting up a Ferret with on-board tools etc. He said he was glad that I was there and that now we could go for a spin with me acting as crew commander. The Ferret had a Plessey C42 set with intercom so we were exercising due diligence WRT to road safety. For about half an hour we tooled in and about the town of Acton, Fred driving and me "up top" with my arm casually draped over a .30 cal MG. Great experience!

Looks to me like he had a lead and a chase car looking after him, so not that life threatening.
We take three Ferrets out on the road regularly and I thought he captured the driving experience perfectly! Malcolm |
