As per Ian Phillips’ message on one of the FB groups:
“One of the innovations used to enhance the realism of the US Army's huge Louisiana Maneuvers of 1941 was the deployment of vehicles fitted with powerful loud-speakers which broadcast amplified "battle" sound effects...explosions, gunfire, the roar of vehicles and the squeak and clatter of tank tracks etc. Here we see one such vehicle...a Chevrolet panel van with triple speakers mounted on its roof. To chrome or not to chrome
I am restoring a 1941 11T ford truck and have aquired others as spares.
Some of the diecast trim items on the bonnet were chromed and painted all over with red undedrcoat then top colour , others are painted raw diecast. Some grilles and side panels have holes for trim strips , some have only partial holes and the later ones have no holes at all. All these bits are from 11T model trucks.

Ambulances
This Chevrolet Ambulance was donated by the USA to the Queen of the Netherlands on 21 May 1941 for use by Dutch troops in the UK.
