Default money

Trying to give you a hint Jiff you get people to make their bookings through you and you take a commission out of that for your time. All you have to do is book their accommadtion through us Aussies and tell us to organise a trip somewhere.

I shot a couple of rabbits yesterday so the stew is right for meat, others will provide the other ingredients. any offers.

Cliff have you a recipe for cane toads for skagfield?

Yep I can organise that Max. Just need to hire a bunch of golf clubs from the local golf course and we can then get these visitors to hunt their own for dinner. .

Another recipe is for the cane toad to be a roadkill victim and at least 5 days old. Trouble with this is these visitors probably drive on the wrong side of the road to us and there is a danger that they may be looking the wrong way during harvest and become a Road kill victim themselves!

But I am sure we can organise something without to much trouble Max

cheers

I didn't know what a "cane frog" was so I googled and came up with this site about frogs ... if you visit the (below) link scroll way, way down, you'll find information about the cane toad in Australia:

http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgur...lr%3D%26sa%3DN

Hmmmm ... Australia just keeps sounding better and better all the time

Idon't know Dave you'll have to promise not to look like a typical pomme and not to talk cricket, then and only then you might be safe. The media out here are saying that the pommes had to use players from other countries including Australia to win the game. Anyway it's only a game of cricket so well done after all these years. If you come we'll look after you as my old man is pommie.

After I saw the start of this thread, I casually mentioned to Betty...

"How would you like to visit Australia next March?"

She replied...

"Oh, we couldn't afford for both of us to go. Maybe you can go yourself and meet some of your MLU buddies. Let's think about it."

Hmmm...the seed has been planted. Stay tuned.

I've been talking to russell, he's keen to put on another trip through the mountains after Corowa next year russell (Mark Sierant) is repairing and servicing his vechicle after the trip into central Australia. He is handy with a camp oven.

Default Corowa to the Mountains and onto the Sea

I have had the maps out and have plotted a course to the SE from Corowa. Crossing the mountains into the Wanangata Valley for some bush camps. Then over the ridges to Licola onto Woods Point for a look at some old gold towns, real two headed country this. Then around to Rawson and Valhala with rest days along the way. Then onto the Ocean at Lakes Entrance, the Mexicans can leave from here and the Northern boys can meander up the coast for a couple of beachside camps.

PS the 6 weeks of camping on the inland have added to my already large list of camp oven meals. I have know perfected the Tawny Port Roast, the Rum Damper and best of all the hangover cure. 200km of bouncy old tracks

So skip to it and get your trucks ready and plane tickets booked.

Well, as a keen gardener would do, all you have to do is keep plying on the manure and in 6 mths you can reap the harvest.

Cliff, as a master chef I partially agree with you about jugged cane toad, but the best way to eat them is immediately after they become road kill. That way you don't have to heat them up twice and none of the minerals and vitamins degrade with age.

We feel the same about our roadkill. Every spring, the deer start wandering with predictable results; driving down every country road you can see people pulled over to the side eating their fill before it gets cold. Yummmmmm!

Default A Week?

The timetable will be dependent on breakdowns and repairs required on vehicles. Please be aware that these repairs are educational and should not be considered a delay but an enhancment in Knowledge. PLUS they provide enterainment beyond what a movie ticket can provide.

MAX is probally the best or "luckiest" Bush Mechanic I know. Anything can be patched up with something that comes to hand. This however will add about a day and half to any expected trip because repairs are made every hour on the hour and are followed by Tea and Bikkies.
