C60x
Does anyone have a bell-housing, clutch and transmission for a C60X?
I have a 270 that i took out of a Wrecked CCKW. While the bolt pattern for the bell-housing is the same as the 216 the flange on the crank sticks over an inch further into the bell-housing and the flange is different for the flywheel. Comparing the service manuals between the C60L and the C60X shows a larger ring diameter and a larger clutch surface. I would like to keep this motor for a long term project of a C60X that survives locally but it has long ago lost the motor transmission. Ideas? |

C60X Correction
Upon reexamining it I think the flange is the same distance from the block surface. I'll have to check carefully when it is off the engine stand.

Which side of the bell housing is the clutch connection
Hi Harry
If you think the bell housing is going to work what about the clutch connection? I have had very good luck modifying bell housings with the connection for the clutch on left side to having the clutch connection on the right as with CMP's. My reason for the conversion is simple being located in the U.S. I'll be glad to post photos of how I did the layout and executed the changeover. Cheers Phil

Right side clutch
I did see how you did that if I remember you putting it up n the web somewhere. My concern is the CCKW housing is quite a bit deeper and i would then have to use the longer Transmission from the CCKW. I have several CMP Bellhousings but the basic issue it seems is a compatible flywheel.
The CMP flywheels that I have will not fit the 270 and the 270 flywheel I have is a much larger diameter. You have a very informative website Phil and want you to know that I have read every inch of it and admire your efforts. Thanks for all you do! |
