Default Carrier Database

Hi everyone.

I know it been suggested to have a carrier database in the past. Some have been created but I don't think there has been one here on this forum yet.

I propose we start one.

Anyway, I'll start first.

The carrier that Im working on was so badly cut down that all the parts that had numbers on it were gone. This hull is however a CDN Mk1. However I just picked up a front armour section for a MK1 to use and it has the following.

T51176 4 1942 Ford 6472

Is there anyway to find out from this info what the"CB" number would be for the hull and the order number for the data plate. Would the "T51176" number be also what was painted on the side for the war dept number.

Any help would be great and any other people with info on their carriers please post it up.

Sincerely
Jordan Baker

The CB number would usually be plus or minus a couple of hundred of the serial number. The powertrain was installed in the lower hull and the upper armour installed afterward. The busier the productoin line got, the further these numbers seemed to vary, but usually only a couple of hundred at worst. On many of the lower numbered carriers I have seen, (ie, CB608) the various numbers were within just a few digits.
There was also the hull number on the angle iron on the back left of the carrier. This number also fell within the same parameters as mentioned above.
A good place to check on these numbers is to find someone who has the old Infoex from the late Peter Ford. He had a small database of carrier numbers.
