Default CC#4 June 24-26th

Just a reminder to everyone that the Caldwell-Convoy get together is coming up in a months time. CC#4 will be held on June 24,25,26th in Chatsworth, Ontario. all are welcome and more info is available at www.bmts.com/~caldwell/
We are expecting several MV's this year, including 5 or more carriers, a beautifully restored 11 cab FAT, some CMP's and various other MV's. Feel free to email me with any questions etc... As well if you are planning on attending a quick email is always appreciated as it helps us know how much food is required etc...
Look forward to visiting with everyone in June.

Alex,

The wife has managed to schedule herself out of this one, so I will be on my own.

I hope to find a St. Vincent de Paul drop off box up that way - for all of the old clothes that people keep dropping off in my Carrier. Mostly small sizes, worn by colourblind migets from the 70's methinks.

Hi Stew..
Sorry ..I thought you were loosing it by forgetting Mary...
You haven't reached curmudgeon age yet but its coming..
Hope you got crew room for me on the parade..
I got a gas can for your collection as a bribe..
If you are full that OK..but a carrier ride would impress my crew..

Caldwells,

I expect that everyone is looking forward to another delightful weekend in Chatsworth.

I am doing some last minute fiddling with the machine after a scorcher at the B;ast Off event at the East Elgin Gun Club, but all seems well now.

I'll see you Friday after lunch.

Default PARTS LISTING - 45 HUP

Alex,

I got distracted by the tattooed lady at Grace O'Malley's Pub. Did you say that you would bring a HUP parts list to Chatsworth for me? I asked Bob C, but it appears that he was taken by the stories of the tattoos and did not remember anything either...

Well I don't have to work that weekend or most others anymore. Im more of a Monday to Friday person now. So that would mean that I could go. But since my family has a farm and it is hay time other events are in the way like clearing a 15 acre field of really thick hay. One of my cousins helps out to justify her horse so I figure I should be there even though my two vehicles don't need hay. Ive never discussed with the rest of the family the horse power of the Carrier or CMP as if I did I may be out there by myself doing everything.

I will at least try to use the CMP to pick up stray bales that missed the wagon and i'll post picutres if I do.

Default And I echo Garry's sentiments

Please, PLEASE take lots of pictures of everything - especially the people involved - we should get the rogue's gallery going either here or I'm happy to put it on my site - or at least add it to the people page of my site.

I'd also be really keen to see some (many) shots of the cab 11 FAT.

Default GWB-leave the Shad alone

Right now,as I type at this late hour,he's on probably his fourteenth or fifteenth siesta of the day.If I sent him to Chatsworth, the place would look like a small Mexican town at noontime, what with all the sleeping MLU'ers laaying around their empties.Be a good boy this weekend.

Default Memories Of Chateau Caldwell

Well, lads and lassies, what a weekend!

Bob Carriere and I just returned to Ottawa after having spending the weekend breathing the rarified air of Chatsworth. CC4 was a great chance to swap stories, trade parts, see some great CMP vehicles (and others), and to meet new (and some really old) faces.

The Calwells (heh, heh) were outstanding hosts. They went the extra mile to welcome everyone and to make them feel a part of the greater CMP family. The Ottawa gang (Carriere, Blair and Clarke...wait, that would be CBC...Blair, Carriere and Clarke) extend their thanks for a great weekend.

The trip back to Ottawa was good, as our very keen senses (honed by two nights of "keeping up with the Caldwells") burned thru the "fog of war" and got us home with our loot intact.

This annual event should be noted on your priority list as a "must attend" event - especially for the local enthusiasts. The wealth of knowledge, innovation and craftsmanship on display in Chatsworth is worth a visit. Hob-knobbing with veternans who actually used CMPs in wartime, and meeting new-to-the-hobby enthusiasts made my trip extremely worthwhile. On top of that, herr manual-meister gave a Chatsworth discount on manuals! NTF - check to see if Hell froze over. I am sure that others will add to my observations and will sing the praises of the organizers and attendees.

Next year though, I'll bring the hip waders as the BS to beer ratio increases as the clock ticks past mid-night.

This was the perfect opportunity to make new friends and to re-acquaint myself with old buds. Kudos to the brothers Caldwell and their wives for making CC4 a memorable occasion.

I am looking forward to CC5!

Thumbs up

Yet another outstanding effort on behalf of the Caldwells. Pics to come shortly. This last weekend is what this hobby is supposed to be about: the People. We've seen all the hardware (OK, mebbe not that 11-cab FAT ) but we come to meet those who share our passions for this olde stuffe and all it represents. And the Caldwells do it particularly well. Good onya, byes! Thanks for all.

We need more of these events in Ontario, let's make it happen.

Chris -- think about what we talked about and PM me ref my last.

Talking Big Thanks To All !!!

Dan And Myself, would like to thank all attendees and supporters of this past weekends event, without you it could never have happened.

We had excellent weather ( again ),a great assortment of vehicles ( 13 in total) including a nice turnout of 4 carriers, and a great bunch of people approx 60 atteneded over the course of the weekend!!

I t was nice to meet several new faces again this year and of course the opportunity to visit with so many of you who have become friends in the last few years.
Several people found parts they needed and various other treasures that people brought to sell or trade.
Everyone seemed to have a great time, and most even looked pretty spry in the morning, hey wait a minute we didn't go to bed till the morning

Anyhow once again a big thanks, and we look forward to seeing everyone next June for CC#5, when we will be featuring the CMP as that years vehicle for our 5th year aniversary, see you next year if not sometime before !!!!

Jeff & Dan Caldwell
