Default Repro winter AFV Crew Coveralls aka "Pixie or Zoot Suit"

Finally!!
Attached is an announcement and the Word document to use to order yourself a repro winter Crewsuit known as the "Pixie Suit".

Well, I would if I could attach a Word.doc. Hanno! Help!! In the meantime, email me and I will send you the word doc.

I have had three test suits sent from the maker in Pakistan for inspection, and this one measures up!

IMPORTANT!!!!!! YOU MUST PLACE ORDER By March 1st!!
these suits are a small production run and the maker is buying the fabric in bulk that he used for the sample in the pictures.

Call up the form in the Group Files called "Oversuit.Doc". Look at the size chart and see what works for you. If you see something close, but need tailoring, that can be done for a $30 fee. Or you can have one made to your own measurements. Print the form, fill it in and convert to a .PDF, or take a picture on your phone and send to World Wing1.

Delivery in about 60 days. Price depends on size. Starts with US$ 210.00 for a SIze 1 and up to US$ 280 for a Size 8. Plus DHL shipping cost. See the ordering file for details.

You might want to think about when you will wear it - and what you plan to wear under it. Spring and fall with just a shirt and trousers, or mid winter over BD and longjohn and such. I got mine to fit over my BD loosely so I can deal with FIG.

Jim,

It is possible to attach a Plain Text (*.txt) or a Portable Document Format (*.pdf) file to messages here in MLU.
I propose you save your Word document as Plain Text and upload it here. Please let me know if that works.

HTH,
Hanno

Thanks Hanno!!

OK folks, here is the order form as a .PDF.

You may know these days you can open a .PDF and edit in it and save to send back out. Depends on your computer software.

Safe bet is to print it out and fill it in. The either scan it or carefully take a picture with your phone camera and then send THAT picture to Irfan for the order.
Some folks have emailed me to ask for the Word document and I have sent those out.

If you are having a problem with getting the order in, just email me or PM and I will help you with it all.

CHeers,
Jim

I just ordered one from Irfan (BTW - he responded quickly). Really excited about these.

Thank you for your work on putting all of this together Jim!

Jim,

I have cross-posted this on the Keep Them Rolling (largest Dutch HMV club) mailing list as there are a lot of tall guys in Holland (not to mention the portly ones) who do not fit in wartime sizes.

Hanno

Yep, I also just ordered a size 7. I wear a size 5 original but without battledress on underneath so a size 7 would allow for proper additional uniform if its really cold, or for me to drink more beer as will likely be the case over the long term and allow me to grow into it.

Very happy that Jim took the leadership position on this project and got it going.

Cheaper shipping to Europe found!
Irfan has got better rates to Europe with a courier service called "SKYNET". Drops the price to the UK, for example, down to - in US$ - under $50.

That is a bit slower - 7 day delivery instead of 3-day with DHL.

Please spread the word!

Hi folks, I forwarded the request for cost of shipping to

Irfan sent this back to me today...
"Shipping for neatherland is 50$ for one suit and if get 3 on same adress then 125$ for 3

That cost is quoted in US$ so make your currency conversion.

Please keep in mind there is a "window" to order these. He will stand up production in a few weeks and only have all the patterns out till end of March.

I just don't know what would be prices if you make an order past that, as then it would be a true "One-off" and he might not do it unless there were a batch of orders.

Bottom line... "get while the gettin's good".

Isn't it latest order date February 28 and shipment end march?

Or am I wrong?

Mailed my order this week Tuesday to worldwing1@gmail.com left the spot open to pay $80 for shipment or less.

Wednesday morning i got a reply from Irfan $50 shipment to The Netherlands.

I ordered a size 8 $250, shipment $50 and 7% PayPal fee makes $21 total $321.

Delivery (or shipment) 1st week of April Irfan confirmed

Cheers

Remko

First posting clearly says "must order by March 1st". Regardless of its Feb28 or March 1st I'd get them in.

Update -
We have the minimum order number reached. Irfan bought enough material to make 50+/- suits. I know the actual paid orders are somewhere between 40-50, so if you haven't ordered, best to at least send in the form to hold one.

Any suits leftover will be made as a size 6 and size 7 and I will flog them on ebay. Those will go for what the market brings, but no less than what the original price was.

Next project is the Denim AFV Crewsuits!

Same as with the Pixies... the costs are set by Irfan and I am just a buyer like everyone else.

But full disclosure - I have three other projects planned with Irfan that I hope to make money on. For those, I will not pin like the "group project" but have a go at being a sutler.

Projects are the fiber Bren ammo boxes and the 6-pocket bags that go inside. ( for the Mk2 Carriers) and the tool roll for the BESA MG.

Hopefully I won't flounder with the project!

Thanks to all of you that have supported the Pixie suit project, and I hope you stay with me on the denim AFV Crew suit!

I'm passing on the Pixie suit, but most certainly will be buying at least one Denim Crewsuit. Please keep us posted and we'll spread the word here and elsewhere.

Bump -
Reminder that time to get an order in is runninf out. End of March to get an order in, then he starts cutting fabric.

Denim - I have to order 1,000 yards to get the mill to weave the right stuff. I should be getting a couple of yards as samples end of April.

Will send swatches to whomever sends me a return envelope and stamp.

Just spoken to Irfan myself as I feared the goal posts had been moved.
Now quoting middle of April for the suits.
