Default Carrier tarp

Please could someone remind me of the dimensions of the canvas tarp as used on a 1944 MK2* ?

Cheers Ron

Hello Ron,

From a search of earlier posts, it looks like 15’ x 20’. Are you looking to get one made?

Mike Gurr has what he believes is an original that came with his Carrier. He was kind enough to photograph it for me, but I can’t find the post anywhere.

Yes Tom I want to replace this bluey tarp and a friend has been searching round for Khaki canvas for his WOT (Everyone seems to have US olive canvas)

He's sent me a sample from a firm in Brum :- 'Classic Khaki 18 oz 6' wide £20 metre'

Ouch! Works out at about 18mts = £360 +post and probably VAT too! Getting on for £450 before any sewing!!!!

It's why I've deen waiting for someones old dead tilt Ron

Obviously the colour of any canvas would have varied according to when the Carrier was made and canadian manuals do refer to both green and brown canvas. Same obviously with the vehicle colours.

Cut to size, sew a hem, add grommets, then use a paint roller and tray and cover in Thompson's water seal.

Or... buy a finished tarp either a foot to small or two big, and then seal with Thompson's....
