Italian jeep
Hi Guys
A mate of mine has just come back from an overseas holiday and whilst away he took some photos that he thought would be of interest to members in our WW2 Restoration Group. Amongst his photos was a photo of an Italian FIAT Jeep type vehicle and we were wondering if this was a Military or a civilian vehicle, Looking at the photo it looks military but I must admit I have not seen one before. Anyone out there in LMU land able to shed some light on the vehicle and if it was a succeful type vehicle and how it would stack up to our military type vehicles. Cheers Tony

G'day Tony,
It is a Fiat Campagnola (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Campagnola). The interesting thing is that Fiat now has a Hummer type vehicle as well, the Fiat Oltre as a concept car back in 2005 http://www.carautoportal.com/fiat/fiat-oltre.php Thanks for posting the photo Kind Regards Lionel

Thanks for that, interesting to see they have been around in the Italian military since the 1950's, yet this is the first time I have seen a picture of one. I note there is also a Pope Mobile version. I wonder if any MLU members ever restored one. Cheers Tony
