Default picture of Early Dash F15a

Can anyone send me a picture of the reverse of the early rectangle dash for my F15a showing the gauges in place. I have the incorrect later type fitted and want to fit the correct early type but not sure how to wire it up.
( Picture paints a thousand words)

many thanks

Chris

Default F15A CMP Dash wiring

Hi Chris,

This attached diagram may be of some help. Even though I made it for my late war round gauge instrument panel the terminals are the same.

I found the Maintenance Manual schematics hard to follow along with the "spaghetti" behind the dash so this sketch is a simplification of it.

Note that I have numbered the various wires as per the numbering system used in the Maintenance Manual. The terminals for the sending units for the Oil Pressure, Fuel, and Temp gauges sending units are shown without their wires attached.

Hope this may be of some help to you.

Cheers,

Dear Jacques,

Many thanks for the diagram which will be a great help, thanks .
it's mainly the Amp Oil pressure, Fuel and temp I am twitchy about. I think I have a later style loom in so having ID trouble with cables.

See pic of my F15a

Hi Chris,

Glad to help. That is a nice looking vehicle too!
You probably know this but a multimeter set to "beep" on continuity is a great tool for chasing circuits especially when wires disappear down a harness cover.

Even a cheapy one will do the job so no need to fork out big bucks (pounds) for one. I've used my 40 year old Tandy analogue scale one a few times just for such things.

Good luck with your wire tracking!

Cheers,
