Default Unknown German WWII vehicle

Found this pic while surfing for info on WWII rockets. I haven't been able to identify the vehicle to the right of the photo. Only info was that the pic was taken in Peenemunde. Any ideas gentlemen?

Pic to follow

Default Steyr

Nope it is not a Horch, but a Steyr 1500.
A "standard" vehicle but equiped specially for use with the V2 rocket launch teams. I do mean it carries some radio/comunication kits. And the vents where the spare wheel is supposed to be, hides a generator.

Rolf

BTW: It is very likly this is the same vehicle.

So it might have have been a one-off design then? Are there many Steyr 1500's of that era extant? Thanks for the i.d. Rolf.

Default Steyr

I guess the small wheels (think there is another one on the other side) is to be used on the generstor if and when it was lifted out of the vehicle, but I am not sure.
It was made ap. 6500 vehicles of the Steyr 1500A 01/02 with the majority on the Kfz 70.
Kfz 21 was the comander car, and there was also some with cargo body and houselike body used as ambulances (Kfz 31) or radioshack (Kfz 23). Those with cargo body did not have any Kfz.numbering.

Some of these vehicles have survived until today, and I know some are in the prosess of beeing restored.

Default Yup

Pete it is indeed a very nice C15A you got!!

Have never seen a 101 inch wheelbase truck with cab #11 or #12 in Norway, except for those early Gun Tractors.
There are some C30 and a few F30 cab #11 in Norway, and then my C60S cab #12. That one I think is far between in europe... but guess it is going to a friend summer due to my healt and lack of time and space. So the time the next few Years will be spent on a jeep (for my daughter), a C15 that is supposed to be compleetly rebuilt from frame up, and the Morris Commercial C4.

Some of my trailers will also be sold I recon.

Well, I keep telling my self, it is better with a few good restored vehicles than 20 unrestored

Chers from sunny Norway..

Rolf

BTW: It is time for all you blokes from europe to think of a holliday in Norway next Year!! I guess the biggest "Norwegian MV-meeting" was held at Beltring this Year
