Cool!
R. ... you said;
1. Go in the bog and open the basin drain, keep ciggy in sink and blow "exhaust" smoke into basin drain where the vacuum system whips it all away before the smoke sensor sees it. .... dos this REALLY WORK? If so ... I'll try that if I ever get on a plane again and the flight is too long between smoking areas! |

They also covered every aspect of, shall we say, THE one mile high club, and how to be successful without embarrassment eg, do not back your partner onto the low-set attendant bell push or the bog flush; especially the latter as people had been literally sucked into the pan and suffered injury. Also you note the staff have complete control of your well being, for extremely awkward and bombastic passengers, just two of the issued eye drops they all need to carry, because of the dry environment, is undetectable in any drink but will have you in and out of the bog interminably for 24hrs with a severe case of the trots/Dehli belly/Montezuma's revenge or crop-spraying for our Oz chums. Now, perhaps Mr McSpool can expand on this, since he does have a senior cabin staff partner. . . . . . . . . Esteemed Mr. MLU SITREP: After only four beers en route home here, and sparrow-like solid food intake, we kept him up until past 24:00 local with harder liquor and now Mr. "I'll be up before you at 06:00" is soundly away in the land of nod at 07:30 local. His uniform is prepared for the memorial re-dedication later today of the 21st AG "King's Stone" when he salutes for us before the rep of HM Queen, the Dep. Lord Lt. of Hampshire, Rear Admiral D. Bawtree and the rep of the Canadian High Commissioner to England, Maj. J-C. Boisvert. I would hope to post a piccy later, we have hidden the transported store of hard stuff temporarily. R. |

Am looking forward to seeing photos G. As I'm sure everyone else is in here. I hope you'll take time to type to MLU "comments" about your experiences. Master R. Alles Ist Gut
Details to come, but back at that nice Mr Hilter's house for the first time since last week, sunburnt and tired but happy. Friday we leave for Normandy! Just said auf wiedersehen to Andreas the Herr Oberst Kettenkradfixenführer as he's on his way back to Chermany tomorrow; it's going to be difficult to stop talking in pigeon German now....
SUNRAY MINOR is here and being successfully Assimilated by the Solent Borg Collective. Hmmmmm.... This place is absolutely mad, and full of absolutely mad people. I'M the only normal one here... Cheers, all, wish you were here too.

Aaaah well, there is a contingent of Aussie vets who set off today - as you probably know we didn't have such a big presence there, mainly people serving with the RAF in all sorts of capacities from glider tug pilots to those in the Lancasters of 617 Squadron dropping a pattern of "window" to simulate a slow moving convoy to confuse the Germans. Take LOTS of pictures, and, if anyone is filming on DV in PAL format - shoot a segment to use in the Year of the Blitz 2! Lots of interviews, please... You'll get a credit!

I'm sending him off to France soon (ah, peace and quiet) so we can have the fridge back for food instead of just breakfast wine and beer : : Great to see Dave there even if I had to be whizzing about everywhere, but I was relying on someone for piccies as duties precluded those activities. . . . . . . . Now, I do have a MLD one of a very un-spinning ball mid afternoon, best wait until he's overseas perhaps. . . . . . . . R. |

I missed that, Ball-Spinning doing the washing-up. As this is a reply to the posting from our great friend, and quite anglicised loony; Herr. Oberst. Kettenkradfixennführer Andreas, a gentleman who happily takes the crew to the supermarket on a real WWII ex-Wehrmacht Kettenkrad; I should perhaps relate the tale of Spinning-Ball and the French stick. To compliment the boot (trunk) full of excellent wurst Herr.Ob. Kk.Ff. transports from the Ostfront of der Vaterland, we decided on copious quantities of garlic bread also and thus dispatched the esteemed Mr MLU Ball-Spinning for a white-knuckle ride facing backwards on the somewhat rapid KK being aimed by our rather out of national character Vaterlandvolk Andreas KK.Ff. It transpires that Ballington-Winn has a firmer grip on the KK than the shopping, which is not altogether unreasonable, as you'd all agree, if you have ever had the experience of thrashing down a UK main road facing backwards on a 3/4 track motorbike. Thus one of the excellent and long baguettes was launched from the flying Kettenkrad much like a hypothetical version of a KK mounted, self-propelled Nebelwerfer. The completely befuddled motorist following in a daze at the never before seen, or likely to be repeated, spectacle of a speeding tracked motorcycle; made no attempt a bread-avoidance and accurately rendered the light-brown and crispy, pointed tubular missile into a long and thin chapati within a millisecond and thus it was fit for nothing more than nailing on the wall. The attached image depicts the result of this activity with the evidence duly displayed by Herr.Ob.Kk.Ff. Andreas; the grinning git on the right is alleged to be none other than our esteemed and revered leader; The Rapidly Rotating Spheroid. For the observant Constance Babbington-Smith's amongst you, it may be noted that Binnington-Wall could do with taking two paces closer to the razor in the mornings. We have marked his card accordingly. R. SH.SC. |

From the look on his face....
It looks like W-B ,from that hair raising ride ,was sitting in something soft and warm ...and hadn't had a chance to change his knickers yet...

Don't tell me you still ate that extra-fine tenderised baguette-thing? Or under the affluence of incahol don't you notice the tyre marks? Perhaps rubber and tarmac improves the flavour?
Next time I get the chance I'll definitely think about staying overnight - looks like fun..............

I was supremely confident of a MLD picture and here it is, Ball-Spinning claimed jet lag and fresh air tiredness after a week of acclimatisation and announced he'd have an afternoon nap at the show. What I cannot depict is the unconscious emulation of Ford CMP second gear engagement at rest, made every other second; take my word for it. In fact it might have something to do with the de rigeur two mugs of "breakfast" wine retained by a minimum of six beers before the forenoon is out; which is my theory and I'm sticking to it. R.
