I used to have one of those bags also but never saw any reference to what they were used for or what was carried inside them. I have seen others around so not rare but what was around back then that was 20MM other than the Polsten if in fact it was gun related?

Others are in the same boat. Google brings up a few hits.

That style of tab end for a loose strap is also on the Canadian copied Browning 9mms were made for China that included a hollow wooden shoulder stock. The belt loop has a spring steel clip and a piece of webbing that resembles the one in the picture. The little clip is unusual and scarce.

Oerlikon, Hispano? Two different 20mm cartridges, but both in use pre- and post-'45.

Could it be part of the kit issued for the CMP's fitted with the 20mm AA setup?

I have one of the 1942 dated 40mm / 3.7-inch gun versions which is massive. Keep meaning to sell it off as I was going to use it with my T-16 which is now gone....
