what application for this?
I have a couple of these NOS carbs but in spite of a long internet search, cannot determine the application. Can anyone help? It is a sidedraft Solex 35RZPAIPO or maybe 35RZFAIPO. Is about the same size as an M151 carb.
The only ebay listing I could find says WW2 Bedfor- but that seems unlikely. Can any of our UK members help with this?? |

It is a downdraught carb for a WW2 military 28hp Bedford engine, the British version of the Chev stovebolt

Thanks for the ID. Once I googled Bedfords I quickly found a photo. I assume the short arm with the holes on either side are some version of a choke??
Once again I am amazed at the expertise available here on MLU ! B.P. |

Glad to help. The device on the side was what Solex called Zero Starter and is the choke as such. I have had dealings with these carbs for many years! Michael, I would have been quicker if I had seen the post earlier! Regards Richard
