Anti-Tank Rifle
After WW 1 the Royal Swedish Army bought a limited number or perhaps only one AT-rifle from Germany. I know next to nothing of this "Elephant rifle" but I think I remember it was designed M/1918. I think it was in calibre 12 mm, but I do not really remember.
I will be grateful for any help with info on this weapon.

That is the 13.2mm Mauser anti tank rifle. I have seen a couple of those sold here in the last few years..not cheap mind you.
There is lots of info on them on the internet. Do a google search with keywords German antitank mauser rifle. |

Thank you!
Thank you! I found lots of info. So 13,2 mm it was. It was bought to Sweden in 1921 by the Infantry Comission studying weapons of WW 1. They for example bought the M 1918 BAR from USA in 500 pcs.
You gave me all help needed!

13.2mm=ouch!
The gunner in your photo is obviously a veteran of at least one previous firing, note the neck brace.
The AIM here, of course, is not the destruction of enemy combat vehicles, but the testing of the Medical Branch in the treatment of head and spinal injuries, the rapid response of the Administration Branch in processing his Medical Discharge, and the Pay Corps in setting up his Long Term Disability Pension. At least the Boys ATk Rifle had a muzzle brake and a recoil buffer spring. Cheers

If there is one thing I have learned about shooting anti tank rifles, it is that you want to get your body directly behind the rifle. Far better that the rifle tries to push 200 pounds of body weight, than it using it's efforts to try and bend the shooter in half.

I came across a Boyes that's had a 50 cal barrel put on it and was wondering where I could get a handful of live 50 cal machinegun rounds to test it out. Sorry no pics.
