Default Cab 13 dog house inspection cover

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone can post up some clear photos of the front and rear of the 7" inspection covers?

The insulated or non-insulated kind? Oh never mind, I'll send both.

Default Somebody has made some

Hi Jordan

Somebody has made some, I'll try an look up who, they were nice enough to give me one to replace a flat piece of sheet metal. Anyway I thing they posted drawings for making them.

Also I think there is a Service Bulletin about adding them to covers that didn't have the second I look for that as well.

In response to Bruce's post could you post pictures of both versions?

I've attached photos of both original and replacement round side cover plates from the dog house

Cheers Phil

One has the insulation held on by staples. There might have been something glued on the other one but it's hard to tell. Note the little hole on the rim is in a different location as well.

Default Insulated Cover

Hi Bruce

I wonder if this was meant for the exhaust manifold side of the cover?

The asbestos covering looks similar to the covering used on the Pat 12 dog houses, the insulation on my Pat 13s looks to be a spray on type rubberize insulation with non of the little staple holes found on the Pat 12 covers.

Here is a link to some photos http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/P...20Drawings.htm the Tan cover is from my 1942 Pat 13 C60S while the OD is from my 1945 HUP. I did these drawings a couple of years ago when somebody was wondering about fabricating a dog house that was missing.

Cheers Phil

So are these stamped out then the 3 small clips are added to the back and the handle is added to the front.

Not quite. The depressed ring and handle is stamped. The three tabs are held on by small rivets. Then the asbestos is held on by 4 irregular spaced stapels.
