The 115" wheelbase tractor CMP was only made by Ford, the model is F60T.

Not sure about Canadian semi trailers but there were several types made here in Australia.

The tractor trucks were standard models with a 5th wheel coupling.

How about this CMP seen in the background, in the UK circa March 1944; it looks to have an RAF roundel on the side so would be from 2nd TAF or possibly an RAF Regiment unit, as 'ordinary' RAF Stations in the UK didn't get these vehicles- or did they!

I've been told the RAF was quite happy with Fordson 4x2 GS trucks for airfield use and that CMP 4x4's were never used by the RAF IN THE UK as the Army and 2TAF units living in the field had a greater need.

From the site referred to above:

"The bolt action, Caliber .303 in. Magazine Lee-Enfield, MLE, held two columns of 5 cartridges each. A skilled soldier could fire the 8.8 lb rifle's deadly 174 grain bullet at from 20 to 30 aimed rounds per minute, making British Commonwealth infantry as effective as any in the Korean War."

Comment: The Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE) 'Rifle, No.1 Mk3*' had a staggered box magazine holding 10 rounds, not '2 x columns of 5'. The rifle's approximate weight at '8.8lb' was without ammunition and/or bayonet.

Comments: The rifles visible in the image are No.1 Mk.3* rifles, and the Pattern 07 Bayonet with which each rifleman was equipped had a blade length of 17 inches.

The jeeps are towing Australian No.4, 8 cwt trailers. The visible webb equipment is Pattern '37.

With a Mustang. AWM photo "Image of Mustang A68-43 - Court of Inquiry re accident to at Canberra on 24 6 1947 - Hains A L LAC 16240 - Killed"

Plenty of other accident photos if you search under accident in the "photograph section".

That's a fire tender, and from memory the Mustang piloted by Dick Cresswell had run into the back of the truck killing the poor fellow who was on the back.
To be fair to the pilot I think the truck was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was out of sight to the pilot.

Note the CMP in the background. I'd say it is a '44-'45 model C15A.

Spotted this one on a FaceBook group called "Old Service Station Photographs - Australia". A post by Chris Keating caught my eye... a Chev CMP with window open enters from the right. Also one of my favourite old British cars (I used to have one the same colour) a Morris Minor 1/4 ton pickup.

Postcard showing the beach promenade at Noordwijk aan Zee, Holland, probably late 1950s, showing a 3-tonner CMP.

Both Fords and Chevrolets came from Canadian Army dumps and were used to dredge/harvest shells from the beach. Working in the harsh salty and sandy environment ensured none of them survive today.
