Not the same trailer, mate  Those you have posted are on leaf springs and are not the Straussler design with torsion bars.Richard

Hi Rick, Richard, Les and others,
We must have had some in NZ as I can remember one used as a water tanker for firefighting at a local Lands & Survey Depot in the late 1950's. Looked exactly as in your picture. Les We used to borrow it to cart water for the horses at the local sports meetings. The engine ticked over a treat and the pump put out a huge amount of water. I've recently heard of its chassis sitting on a farm in the district. Goodness knows where the tank etc is. Must make some enquiries. Cheers, Terry

G'day Les, Richard and others,
Just got in from a run through the Ozzie bush in our 1940 Chev Staff car. Thanks for your efforts, Les. The tanker shows the suspension just great, even shows that the draw bar is the origional but has been closed up a bit with a welded plate coupling. Don't know what other bodies may have been in this chassis or what tonnage it can carry. Regards Rick.

Bob's right, Hugh does know about these waddling trailers. Museum in Adelaide has one fitted out as a "landing light" trailer. Doesn't tow very well stupid suspension idea means that it rocks side to side like a duck waddling. Apparently only a slow tow speed capable. Pedr

Apologies, but was not able to get a photo of the refueller trailer today, got sidetracked and then a rain storm came over and it slipped my mind until later, but I think you have been sent quite a few pictures now to confirm its identity.
