I used to be a Camel smoker, but as I've gotten older I can't catch'em anymore.

When I was at school Camel was known as the only cigarette with a picture of the factory on the packet.

I started smoking Camels as none of my mates would smoke them, so OP's when offered by me, were refused by them. (Camel SH*&XT) I smoked their OP's and enjoyed them. As I couldn't afford to supply all my mates with smokes, this was my way out.

Gave it up years ago, though. Couldn't afford to drive the car I wanted and to smoke as well.

I've made a few stabs at quitting in the last year and haven't made it yet,
so would hobble a mile for any :smoker: currently (fool that I am) :D

I remember the trouble caused back in the mid '60s here when a tragic news bulletin reported on the crash of a Vickers Viscount:

The relevance here was we had TV advertising of a cigarette called the Viscount and in the batch of ads following the announcement there was one for Viscount with the following jingle:

Quite so, and they're a bit short too.

I would always prefer the proper, longer, straight-thru Yank ciggies wholly devoid of any mufflers, Chesterfield or Pall Mall; I keep a small stock of the latter, privately imported, for special occasions.
