Hello Blondie Chase me
I bet that caught your attention.
I came across a couple of photos recently. Both were Fireflies. One was named "Blondie" T212732. The other was called "Chase". This had been knock out. I think near Buron. Can anybody identify the units these tanks belonged to. I have heard Sherbrooke Fusiliers and or North Nova Scotias. Anybody confirm or add any other shermans? Cheers Kevin |
Canadian Firefly at Buron
Hi there
For starters, while the North Nova's were at Buron, the were an infantry regiment. And as resourceful as the Canadian infantry was, I doubt if they had a Firefly on strength. However, he Sherbrookes did battle with the 12th SS Panzer Division all around Buron and lost 27 tanks, so the Firefly is probably one of theirs. Steve |
Blondie and Chase
Hello Steve
Thank you for your reply. Apologies for North Nova Scotia. I should have checked before I asked the question. No offence meant to either parties. Do you know if "Blondie" and "Chase" both belonged to the Sherbrooke Fusiliers? Cheers Kevin |
