I bet that caught your attention.
I came across a couple of photos recently. Both were Fireflies. One was named "Blondie" T212732. The other was called "Chase". This had been knock out. I think near Buron. Can anybody identify the units these tanks belonged to. I have heard Sherbrooke Fusiliers and or North Nova Scotias. Anybody confirm or add any other shermans? Cheers Kevin |

Hi there
For starters, while the North Nova's were at Buron, the were an infantry regiment. And as resourceful as the Canadian infantry was, I doubt if they had a Firefly on strength. However, he Sherbrookes did battle with the 12th SS Panzer Division all around Buron and lost 27 tanks, so the Firefly is probably one of theirs. Steve

Hello Steve
Thank you for your reply. Apologies for North Nova Scotia. I should have checked before I asked the question. No offence meant to either parties. Do you know if "Blondie" and "Chase" both belonged to the Sherbrooke Fusiliers? Cheers Kevin |
