Need part identification

Hi guys, I have a part that I don't recognize. It is #CTL 14304 , 1944 vintage.I think it may be a seat bracket? Any help on where it is located on the MKII carrier would be appreciated.http://s352.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps87afad35.jpg

Thanks for any help,Dave

I may have messed up with photobucket.I loaded a pic of the bracket sitting on a chair.Hope this works!

I believe I have one of these kicking around the shed as well.....for some reason I think it has to do with the little fold down seat in the back but I can't be sure.

For the life of me, I can't remember what the bracket is for? But it fits on the bulkhead behind the drivers seat. Ron

Thanks,Rob, for fixing that for me.
I vaguely recall taking it off my carrier when sandblasting. Thanks for the pic Ron.I wonder what it is for as well,I don't see it in any illustrations or parts lists.

I have found it in my Chilwell list as TL14304 Bracket Harness Right.

Ron

Dave Schindel 17-03-13 02:11

Ron,any idea what kind of a "harness" it would be for?

Ron Pier 17-03-13 09:05

Not yet, but I might know a man who does? Ron

Here is the plate from my Chilwell list. it calls numbers 11/12/13/14/16/17/18/19 "Harness Bracket" Ron

Mk2 carriers were later fitted with a seatbelt harness.... There was a square hole in the back of the drivers seat rest where the webbing straps came through

AH! That's what the hole is for. Cheers Richard. Ron

Hello Dave

I think it was a Sutton Harness that was fitted which is the same as those used in fighter aircraft.

Thanks Stephen

That would make a nice addition to have in my carrier......I don't think I'd want to wear it though. Ron

Very interesting. Thanks for all the info!
By the way, can someone educate me on the Chilwell info? I've never seen it before.
Thanks,Dave

Hi, I can send you a copy of the manaul on CD, just pm me your address and some to cover postage to Canada.

I have a couple of those brackets if you need any.

Kevin.
