As mentioned in the thread HERE, C15 Chevs had a LSD, and a locking diff made by Thornton-Welles was available for other diffs. Ford and Chev CMPs have different diff housings, but share the same ring and pinion and centre hemispheres, so any LSD or locker will fit either Ford or Chev.

Just because they are mentioned in a parts catalog doesn't mean they are about in any large numbers, I know I've never seen or heard of one either!

If you'd rather not track down 65 year old specialised driveline equipment, and you're willing to shell out some 2009 dollars, Locked Drive Systems use Eaton Locker centres and machine up hemispheres for local applications, generally for 4wd applications, as most large trucks will have a direct replacement unit from Eaton in the NoSpin range. If you wanted to go this way, you'd have to crack open your diff and measure the internals. CMP axles and side gears are 1.75" and 16 spline, a size that is not readily used these days, but at least a NoSpin will drop into the existing housing and not require new parts.

An odd relic of the times that they were made, but CMP ring gears are secured to the hemisphere by Rivets, rather than Bolts. If you could identify a similar modern differential by dimensions (ie poss Dana 70, or Sterling, etc), you might be able to upgrade to bolted ring gears (with macthed new pinion).
