Apart from the museums Alex mentioned,
in another thread I suggested a visit to the
Den Hartogh Ford Museum at Hillegom. That's a 20 to 30 min. drive from Schiphol, and you could even take the bus. While there are no military vehicles on display, it is a great place to visit if you have a couple of hours to spend.
