I was in at Reyolds museum on the weekend to buy a few parts as they are selling off all the odds and ends and found a CMP that is rather odd in that it is left hand drive Ford, with exterior steering box, engine side covers that fold and lift up, odd dash and no engine cover inside the cab, 2 wheel drive with 16 tires. anyone have any idea on the year or model looks like pre 11 or 12 cab.

It looks like one of the late 39 (1940 model year) pilot trucks to me. I was working on the one in Shilo......hopefully I'll be back on it in the new year.
Any idea what the asking price was on this one at Reynolds? |

Amazing to see one of the pilot Fords so unmolested and crying out to be saved!

![]() ![]() See Gregg's Blueprint for Victory page 18 - this is the Ford 1939 prototype III, the last prototype model prior to the adoption of RH drive and the standardized Cab 11. This is truly an amazing find and I am surprised no one mentioned it earlier. Someone should notify the CWM, methinks.... H.

a few more pic, seems like there are a lot less trucks than there where two years ago, there had to have been close to 40 or 50 CMPS here is the phone number for anyone interested 780-352-5201.

This early Ford 2WD is still sitting at Reynolds as of May 2, 2014, as are many others including, 13 cabs, 12 cabs, Gun tractors and assortment of others, talking to Byron Reynolds there no longer for sale all the remaining trucks are going to different military museums across the country, when or where ?

Hi Hanno,
Looks like the only way you could drive that would be to relocate the clutch pedal to the cab step !

Clive,
Bill and I only had little over half an hour before the caretaker had to leave so I could not spend too much time. Not knowing if and where it could have a serial number did not help either. But there's a number stenciled on the dash. I took pictures of all the data plates I saw on the other CMPs. Once I get home I will sort the pictures and post them here. H.

The serial number on the one here in Shilo was on top of the frame over the left front wheel.
