We are chasing wheel nuts which appear to be Chev Blitz LH thread on LH side, so likely 5/8" UNF. Does anyone have a recommended source in Melbourne? Any help appreciated. They are fitted to our Dodge Weapons Carrier, ex Leyland brothers setup very similar to what Johnny and Billy B's Weapons Carrier was in the late 70's with blitz running gear with 12:00 X 20 wheels and large Diesel engine.

A (Blitz) CMP wheel nut or stud is 7/8" BSF. A Dodge (WC model) is (I think?) 3/4" UNF.

I would guess a lot of Bedford, Austin, Morris etc trucks up until the metric era would have the same nuts? Worth a look.

You mention LH threads so I assume are you talking about the nuts to fit the wheel to the hub not the nuts to join the wheel halves together? Try Auto Surplus in Mitcham Vic. They bought up a lot of old Ford blitz and side valve V8 stock from Cowley's Engineering in Geelong when he closed down. I went to Cowley's over many years and got a lot of NOS parts from him- Spring shackle pins, transmission gears, head gaskets, even the small oil bath air filter that fits atop the fuel pump stand. Would have been a big bin of wheel nuts there for sure. Hope this helps and good luck with your search. Cheers,

The divided wheel stud/nut is 7/8"BSF. (7/8"-11tpi) And similar sized/age British vehicles the wheel stud is 5/8"BSF (5/6"-14tpi). This also includes 25Pdr, Limber and Bofors guns. |

One of the Morris CS8 wrecks here came fitted with brass wheel nuts. They look identical to the steel nuts in shape and size. I won't be fitting the brass nuts on any of my vehicles, I'd be worried about them failing and a wheel coming off.
BTW I think the monstor Dodge of J Belfield has White scout car axles ?

Thanks Euan, have only a couple on each LH wheel. Pretty sure Johnny has long moved on from the White Scout Car setup he once used, but may have used a blitz front end at one stage with the Gm 4/53. Possibly running inter front end now. Thanks for your help.

Johnny told me that the Leyland Brothers were so impressed with his, that they decided to get one built for themselves and it was subsequently featured in their films.
